As President of the HIMA (Home Improvement Manufacturers Association), I would like to introduce you to the activities of our network which bring huge benefits every year to our members. The formation of HIMA reflects the growing international status of this region industry and provides its member companies with the competitive advantage that comes from being part of both a national association and an International Network.

HIMA origins lie in the the European Federation of DIY Manufacturers (fediyma), which was created in March 2000 by its founding members BHETA (United Kingdom), Herstellerverband Haus & Garten (Germany) and Inoha (France). FEBIN (Belgium), MADE4DIY (Italy), AFEB (Spain) and IVG (Germany) have also joined the federation in recent years. All together they represent 78% of the European home improvement market with over 850 member companies.

HIMA will focus on engaging with members, offering activities and initiatives that are strategic in nature and focused in future challenges across the world. We continue to expand and tailor our member services, offer a wide range of Home Improvement, DIY, Building Materials and Garden market data, increase the quality of our networking events as we have done with the Global DIY Summit, represent the interests of our industry on an International level, amongst other projects that will increase our visibility in the industry. As a result of these initiatives, we expect a considerable international expansion of our association in the coming years.
